Academics

Kindergarten to Class 10, English medium, following the Karnataka State Board syllabus and leading to the SSLC examination.

Overview

Understanding, not only information

Royal Concorde School provides education from Kindergarten through Class 10, with English as the medium of instruction. The academic approach is built around strong foundational knowledge, structured learning, and the progressive development of independent thought — with the aim that students leave each stage not merely with information, but with genuine understanding.

Teaching, assessment and record-keeping follow the Karnataka State Board pattern, with students sitting the SSLC examination at the end of Class 10.

STEM & Innovation

Disciplines to be practised, not merely studied

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are approached as disciplines to be practised, not merely studied. Students are encouraged to experiment, test ideas, make mistakes, and discover that failure is often a necessary part of finding a solution.

  • Scientific enquiry through structured laboratory work
  • Technology and computational thinking
  • Engineering-style problem-solving
  • Applied mathematics through hands-on projects

Languages

Another way of understanding people and perspectives

Language offers students more than the ability to communicate. Royal Concorde follows the three-language formula, with Kannada taught to every student as State policy requires, and French offered in addition as a foreign language.

First Language

Hindi or Kannada.

Second Language

English — also the medium of instruction.

Third Language

Whichever of Hindi or Kannada is not chosen as the First Language.

French

Introduced as a foreign language, extending students’ linguistic range beyond the languages of the classroom and the region.

Teaching Methodology

Technology in support of a skilled teacher

Instruction favours active learning over lecture-based delivery. Smart classrooms are used to enrich teaching, with technology treated as a tool in support of a skilled teacher rather than a substitute for one.

It is a teacher who notices when a child has stopped asking questions, and a teacher who sees potential before the child sees it themselves.
